Entry 11-Money and Prosperity

Here are a few things I learned about money this week:

• Money is not good or bad
• Give a % of income to charity
• Money reveals the person we are
• Money makes good men better
• We are supposed to be self-reliant 

I also learned the formula for being prosperous:

First-keep the commandments and obey God

Next-learn so we are not ignorant

Then- give to the poor, obey laws of wealth

Last-obtain riches and learn about money and plan to be self reliant
Lastly-Do not let money sleep, invest

In the Parables that Christ taught in the scriptures I learned four important things to keep in mind about success.

• be prepared
• be productive
• be faithful
• be fruitful

Wealth and prosperity doesn't come to those who sit around, they come to those who are actively working on improving themselves and continue to learn and grow. I learned these three things in a talk from the reading this week:

1. Fill mind with truth

2.Fill life with service

3. Fill Heart with love
And that will ensure that you have a productive successful life. Note: You may not become rich from doing all this but you sure will become self-reliant at the least. Be able to provide for yourself and family.

Here's a quote:

"That which ye selfishly keep, you lose. That which ye willingly give, you keep." When we are willing to give of our substance to the poor and needy and also to tithing, we receive blessings far more than we gave, whether in material goods or spiritual, non-tangible blessings. 

If I want to be successful in my business I have to take the time to become money smart. I can't sit back and "hope" it happens, because it won't. Money is something that I have always struggled understanding and investing and things, so I feel like this will be a challenge for me as I grow more successful in my business and career. But I have learned that it is possible!
